Be there before the light
The first boats leave around five in July, earlier if the tide suits. From the inn it is eleven minutes to the town landing. Take coffee with you, because nothing is open and nobody down there is interested in serving you.
Stand on the far side of the ramp
The ramp is a workplace. Crates, bait, wet rope, a truck reversing. Stand on the far side by the fish house and you can see everything without being the person somebody has to walk around. This is the difference between being a guest and being an obstacle.
What you are actually watching
Traps go out in strings and come back in a rotation, so what you see in August is not setting, it is hauling and re-baiting. Ask, if somebody is standing still. Most will tell you. Nobody will tell you while they are moving.
