Fourteen steps up, wide floorboards that announce you, and the two rooms where you hear the water instead of the road.

The best room in the house and the first to go. Corner room, two windows, and the only one where you hear the water rather than the road. The stairs up are steep and there are fourteen of them.

Quieter than The Reach and cheaper for it, because the water is a glimpse rather than a view. Original metal bed frame, wide floorboards, and a bathroom down three steps that catches people out once.

A cabin, not a room: no housekeeping mid-stay, a kettle instead of a kitchen, and a wood stove you will want in September. Closest thing we have to sleeping outside. Wifi reaches it, barely.
