Fully booked.Reported by the owner
Before this project, the practice had no website. It now has a place where referrals and new visitors can understand the sessions and get in touch. Alina reports that inquiries and reservations now come through the site, and that the small studio has stayed fully booked since launch.
Client-reported outcome. Inquiry, reservation and revenue totals were not independently verified.
In Alina’s words
The owner’s account of what changed after launch.
Building our new website was a total game-changer for Black Salt Room. Since the launch, I’ve been staying fully booked. We receive a constant stream of new inquiries and reservations directly through the site every single day, and we're essentially running at full capacity. I couldn't be more grateful for the incredible results!
A wellness website that explains the practice.
For a small, personal practice, the website needs to explain what a session feels like and how to take the first step. The design brings those two jobs together.
A visual identity that belongs to the room
Dark backgrounds, amber light, serif headings and soft movement give the opening its character. Clear supporting type keeps the practical details easy to read.
Space to explain each offering
Breathwork, yin yoga, restorative yoga, meditation and seasonal circles each have a dedicated page. Visitors can read about the session they are considering before making an inquiry.
A personal first conversation
The site leads to an inquiry form. Links from offering pages carry the visitor’s area of interest into the form, giving Alina context before she replies and discusses a session.

The Black Salt Room
A first website for a home-based breathwork and yoga studio in Toronto. Built for calm and speed: Lighthouse 100 on mobile and desktop at its May 2026 launch, structured for local search.
Keep the video and let the page arrive first.
The opening does not wait for a movie to load. A prioritised still image gives it an immediate background, while the heading and links render independently. On eligible screens, a short video loop fades in once it can play.
A small file with one job
The WebM loop is 128 KB, with a 314 KB MP4 fallback for browsers that need it. The browser selects a supported format. A full-width background does not need a long, high-bitrate film to create movement.
The still image is part of the design
The 26 KB poster remains behind the video. The video sits in the same fixed visual layer and fades in when ready, so its arrival does not push the heading or buttons around.
Motion only where it makes sense
Below 768 pixels, or when reduced motion or data saving is enabled, the video element is never mounted. Those visitors receive the still-image version without a video download.

The supporting build
Page delivery, search setup and the inquiry form.
- Page delivery
- Next.js and TypeScript, with server-rendered page content. Interactive pieces handle the navigation, form and video behaviour.
- Images & type
- Responsive image delivery and self-hosted fonts keep these assets within the site’s own loading path.
- Search setup
- Dedicated offering pages, page titles and descriptions, a sitemap and structured business information give search engines specific pages to discover.
- Inquiry form
- The selected offering can prefill the form. The server validates submissions and includes basic bot checks, request limits and an email-service connection.
Jardine handled the website design and custom development, bringing the practice’s character and its day-to-day inquiry process into one site.
