Merchant downtime during the migration
The old store remained reachable while the new destination was prepared. At delivery, the Shopify shop address was working with a secure connection and the main Squarespace website continued operating.

A store migration with a familiar address.
The merchandise store needed to move to Shopify while the foundation’s main website stayed on Squarespace. Jardine coordinated the store, website and domain settings so the two could continue working together.

Confirm the access and responsibilities
The work crossed Squarespace, Ecwid, Shopify and GoDaddy. Jardine checked access, mapped the required changes and addressed password issues before the final switch.
Connect the shop address
The shop subdomain was added in Shopify, with the matching domain record prepared in GoDaddy. Visitors could reach the store through an address belonging to the foundation.
Verify the destination
The final checks covered the shop link and its secure connection. The previous store stayed reachable until the new destination was ready, with no merchant downtime recorded.

- shop.bodiefoundation.org was configured as the store’s custom address in Shopify.
- Domain record
- A CNAME record in GoDaddy pointed the shop subdomain to shops.myshopify.com.
- Secure connection
- The Shopify destination’s SSL certificate and public shop link were verified during the handoff.
- Project boundary
- The main Squarespace site remained in place. This engagement covered the store move and connection, rather than a website redesign.

The executive director changed during the project. Jardine prepared the shop CNAME instructions, the incoming director completed that DNS step, and the connected Shopify shop was verified at delivery.
A completed handoff
The instructions covered the GoDaddy CNAME for shop.bodiefoundation.org pointing to shops.myshopify.com. The incoming director ran that change during the engagement. It is the same shop connection verified above, not a second DNS task left open after delivery.
A manageable setup
The foundation kept its public website and merchandise store as separate services. The team could continue using the existing website while managing the shop in Shopify.
