Jardine Studio
TOOL / SEO INSPECTOR

Inspect any page's on-page SEO in one click

A free Chrome extension that reads the rendered page the way Google and AI engines do, then lays out the title, meta, canonical, indexability, headings, Open Graph, and schema at a glance.

Built by the studio, not a SaaS. Free, no signup, and nothing leaves your browser.

What it checks

Everything on-page, read in place

Click the icon on any page and SEO Inspector reads the live DOM, then reports the on-page signals that decide how search engines and AI tools read you. One page, no typing, no signup, and the report stays on your screen.

  • 01

    Indexing and metadata

Indexability from the robots tag, the canonical and whether it points at itself, and the exact title and meta description with character counts.

  • 02

    Structure and content

The H1 to H6 outline stripped of styling, word count, image alt coverage, language, and viewport. The bones a crawler reads before anything else.

  • 03

    Schema and sharing

Every JSON-LD type on the page, the Open Graph and Twitter tags, and a Google search preview built from the live page values.

Why it is different

It reads what your visitors see, not the raw HTML

Most checkers fetch your raw HTML on a server, so anything added by JavaScript is invisible to them. SEO Inspector runs inside your browser and reads the page after it renders, the way a modern crawler does. It works on any tab too, including a competitor's page, a staging build, or localhost.

It asks for two permissions, activeTab and scripting, reads the tab only when you click, and makes no network requests. Nothing is stored, tracked, or sent anywhere, including to us. See the privacy policy for the plain version. Improving how engines like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews read and cite a page is the focus of the studio's AI search visibility service.

FAQ

Questions about the extension

What it reads, how it differs from the audit tools on this site, and what it deliberately does not do with your data.

Is the extension really free?
Yes. It is free, with no signup and no account. It reads the page locally in your browser and sends nothing anywhere, so there is no data to sell and no upsell waiting behind a wall.
How is this different from the free audit tools on this site?
The Website Audit and Free SEO Audit fetch a URL on a server to score one page or crawl a whole site. The extension runs inside your browser and reads the rendered page of whatever tab you are on, including a competitor page, a staging build, or localhost, with no typing.
What does it read?
Title, meta description, canonical, indexability, the H1 to H6 outline, Open Graph and Twitter tags, and the JSON-LD schema types, plus word count and image alt coverage. It also shows a Google search preview and one-click copy on the values you need.
What permissions does it use?
Only activeTab and scripting. It reads the current tab the moment you click the icon, and nothing else. There are no host permissions, no background access to your other tabs, and no network requests.
Does it work on any website?
Any normal http or https page, including localhost and staging environments. Browser pages such as chrome:// and the Web Store itself cannot be read, by design.

For a 0 to 100 score on a single URL, run the free Website Audit. To crawl up to 25 pages and grade the whole structure, use the free SEO Audit. The extension is for inspecting any page, live, as you browse.

Want a human read?

The extension shows you the on-page signals. The SEO Audit adds a strategist who reads keywords, competitors, and content, then hands you a prioritized 90-day growth plan.
